Confidence is undoubtedly cause of success, happiness, mental stability and strength. But how do people become more confident?
Not all the people are able to stand up for themselves or for the others, to face every difficulty with strength or to make themselves be respected. The special ingredient for this kind of attitude is confidence.
Confidence plays a big role in changing one's attitude and mind-set, increasing one's self-esteem and shifting in how you view yourself, since it causes mental and physical stability and strength, which is extremely important to get by.
As it is so fundamental it is tough to be achieved and surely it doesn't come with a slap of fingers, but it takes time and work to feel worthy, in fact people don't know where to start from. Luckily for us, many committed people have shared some tips, which may be useful.
1. Shoulders back, face up!
Even though you don't pay so much attention on your body, changing your posture is a good first move. By putting your shoulders back, chest out and face up you automatically approach differently to every problem and every person you are going to come across. This kind of posture is, also, intimidating so every person, who will try to make you feel uncomfortable or who will make fun of you, will think two times before doing it.
Don't focus on how your body is, on your imperfections, which you may be ashamed of, you are beautiful as you are, but focus on how you introduce yourself in every situation.
Just look straight in front of you, never look back, and go for it! Simple as that!
2. The world is your runway!
I know that probably no one has ever told you this, but let me be the first one: whenever you feel under the weather and insecure, don’t hide yourself with a big sweater, jumpsuit and a pair of clogs. Dress up with clothes, which make you feel powerful, unstoppable and which accentuate your curves or your favorite body parts, so that whenever you look in the mirror, you will see a stunning woman, who can get whatever she wants.
Then walk down the streets of your city as if you were on the VS runway or at Versace show. (Take as a role Bella Hadid at the gas station. That is what I mean!)
3. Repeat: you have value
Everyone on this planet needs to hear that they are worth it, they count, but you cannot expected other people to say it to you every single day, so do it by yourself: every morning, before taking a step out of the door, look in your eyes in the mirror and repeat three times: I am beautiful
I am smart
I am funny
I am generous
I am fearless
I am unbeatable
I am worthy
Then close your eyes, breath intensely for a few seconds and finally you are ready to go out into our chaotic world .
4. Pretend sometimes
J: -what do you do on those days when you don't feel like confident or fearless or powerful as you did out there?
R: -pretend.-
J: -fake it?-
R: -yeah.-
J: -until we make it?-
R: - I mean why not? It's either that or cry myself asleep, who wants to do that?-
As queen Rihanna teaches us, pretending to be someone you aren't can be the key sometimes. Remember that pretending doesn't mean ignoring and forcing yourself to put down your real feelings and emotions, but trying to forget them for a minute in order that people don't notice them. Being vulnerable can be a con in our society, because the world is as amazing as cruel.
5. Never give up
It’s hard not to care about what other people say about you, since everyone is looking for approval from others. Anyway, in order to achieve every goal, you mustn’t listen to all the comments, judgments, opinions people have about you. You will be given pieces of advice just in case you need them or you ask for. In any case, remember not to let anyone put you off and discourage you by saying you aren’t strong, smart, beautiful and kind enough to do what you want to do, because no one knows you better than you do.
